BEKENDMAKING

Het Ministerie van Volksgezondheid van de Republiek Suriname maakt bekend dat, op basis van het WHO-advies inzake Novel Coronavirus, de volgende richtlijnen in acht moet worden genomen:

1. Reizigers die uit een risicogebied afkomstig zijn en die positief gescreend zijn / symptonen vertonen, zullen in quarantine geplaatst worden voor 14 dagen.
2. Alle reizigers die uit een risicogebied afkomstig zijn, gescreend zijn en geen symptonen vertonen, zullen worden geadviseerd om zelf quarantine in acht te nemen voor 14 dagen. De reiziger zal geďnstrueerd worden om in deze periode, contact te onderhouden op het telefoon nummer 178 of via Whatsapp (+597) 8836643 met de gezondheidsautoriteiten die met de monitoring belast zijn. De reiziger draagt in dit geval de directe verantwoordelijkheid van zijn of haar gezondheid.
3. Alle overige reizigers die niet onder de categorieën 1 en 2 vallen, zullen worden geadviseerd om bij mogelijke symptonen, contact op te nemen (24/7) op het telefoon nummer 178 of via Whatsapp (+597) 8836643 voor de nodige assistentie.

ANNOUCEMENT

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Suriname announces that, based on the advice of the WHO regarding the Novel Coronavirus, the following guidelines must be observed:

1. Travelers who come from a risk area and who are positively screened or have symptoms will be placed in quarantine for 14 days.
2. All travelers who come from a risk area, and show no symptoms after screening, will be advised to take quarantine into account for 14 days. The traveler will be instructed to maintain contact during this period through telephone number 178 or via Whatsapp (+597) 8836643 with the health authorities responsible for monitoring. In this case the traveler bears the direct responsibility of his or her health.
3. All other travelers who are not categorized as stated above, 1 and 2, are advised to contact (24/7) telephone number 178 or via Whatsapp (+597) 8836643 for the necessary assistance in the event of possible symptoms.

The Embassy of the Republic of Suriname, in India, announces that as of October 18, 2019 Visa- and the Tourist Card application will only be accepted and processed when submitted through the website: https://suriname.vfsevisa.com/suriname/online

Travelers to Suriname with an E-Visa or the E-Tourist Card are kindly requested to carry a print out of the visa obtained from the official visa and tourist card website.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided on the full implementation of the E-visa and the E-tourist card, which has taken place from October 18, 2019, for the time being a transition period for travelers who were unable to use the E application. This transition period will run from October 18 to November 30, 2019 followed by a grace period from December 1 to December 31, 2019.

The consular services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be continued during this period on the Johan Adolf Pengel Airport in the Republic of Suriname.
